Friends of Elk Rock is a non-profit organization established in 2004 to preserve and improve the natural horse riding trail at Elk Rock State Park. Elk Rock State Park is located at Red Rock Lake in central Iowa just several miles north of Knoxville, Iowa on Hwy 14.
The Friends of Elk Rock work closely with the Iowa DNR and through memberships, donations, benefit events and physical labor to be able to accomplish their goals of preserving and improving the trails. Friends of Elk Rock gather to have fun participating in events such as Fun Days, Poker Runs, Camp outs, Parades, County Fair and Appreciation Days just to mention a few.
Please come and enjoy the park and fellowship of other horse lovers in central Iowa. We meet regularly the first Thursday of each month to discuss business, plan events and improvement to the park. Check out our calendar of events for time and place. All are WELCOME!!
